Notes on the translation: This text is taken from Edouard Naville's translation published in Todtenbuch ("Book of the Dead") in 1886. Considered a standard translation today, it was also included in an appendix in E.A. Wallis Budge's 1890 The Egyptian Book of the Dead, which covers the Papyrus of Ani. I have included some updating of the English usage and proper Egyptian names, to allow an easier reading of the text.
